The National Merit® Scholarship Program is a scholastic competition. Students must take the Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test (PSAT/NMSQT) in order to be considered for the scholarship program. The PSAT/NMSQT is taken during your junior year of high school. Hence, it is important for students to do be prepared because about 8200 of the 1.4 million PSAT students will qualify to receive Merit Scholarship awards.
